Aerospace students from Temasek Polytechnic achieved top results in the recent Singapore Amazing Flying Machines competition, taking home 5 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals, as well as the "Best Team Spirit" award at the competition held from 15--17 March 2012.
Organised by DSO National Laboratories and the Singapore Science Centre, the competition invited participants to create flying gadgets under categories such as paper planes, unpowered gliders, radio control flight, semi-automated/automated and unconventional air.
This year's SAFMC, the fourth since 2009, involved over a thousand participants and more than 300 teams from primary schools to the varsity level, organisations and members of the public. platforms.

 | | Aerospace lecturer, Mr Matthias Christian, led his team of students - Team Red Lunar to win the Most Creative Award (Gold), for his fully original flying machine, impressing the judges with its unique configuration and autonomous ability. The team also won Best Video Award (Gold) in the Semi-autonomous category. |
