1 Academy, 10 Nationalities Racial Harmony Scores High at the Tourism Academy@Sentosa
Visitors to the bi-annual course preview at the Tourism Academy@Sentosa (TAS) on Friday, 21 July 06 will be greeted by the warm hospitality of not four but 10 nationalities! Hailing from Bangladesh, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam, the students embody the cosmopolitan family that characterises TAS.
The 200 staff and students from the 2-year Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Business course will be decked in their colourful national costumes to commemorate Racial Harmony Day as they celebrate the unity in diversity of cultures at the Academy. Some 150 people are expected to attend the course preview over the two days of 21 and 22 July 2006.
Course previews for the Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Business are held twice a year and target both Singaporeans and international students living in Singapore. Visitors will be given a comprehensive preview of the course, get the opportunity to talk to lecturers and students as well as take a tour of the Academy. They will also find out about the Hospitality & Tourism industry, its career opportunities, the pathway from diploma to degree and how their training will be relevant to the Integrated Resort (IR). TAS is situated right next to the proposed Sentosa IR site.
