Clinching Gold at WorldSkills Singapore


Congratulations to our gold medalist Clarence Tay Yan Chong (pictured centre) from TP’s School of Informatics & IT for clinching the top prize in the Web Design category. TP has won 1 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze and 3 Medallions for Excellence at WorldSkills Singapore 2016, the 12th in the series of competition, held from 7 to 9 July 2016.

In addition to Clarence’s win, TP’s School of Informatics & IT also scored one Silver medal in the IT Software Solutions for Business and one Bronze medal in the Web Design categories. TP’s School of Design bagged two Silver medals in the Graphic Design Technology and the Visual Merchandising categories and School of Engineering brought home two Bronze medals in the Aircraft Maintenance and Mobile Robotics categories.

Singaporean students and trainees from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, ITE, companies and other institutions of higher learning participated in the nation-wide skills competition for Singaporean youths who excel in technical skills. Clarence will be representing Singapore on the world stage at the 44th WorldSkills Competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates next year.
