RSVP For Graduand Attendance - Deadline & Details

RSVP period: 21 April - 4 May 2008

Do note that your RSVP is to reach us by the above period if you wish to participate in the Ceremony. This is to enable us to reserve a seat for you in the sequence that you will be presented on stage.
How to RSVP:

  1. Click on "RSVP for Graduates". Online registration will be opened from 21 April – 4 May 2008.
  2. Login using Admission Number and password.
  3. On the left hand menu bar, click on "Graduand Registration System".
  4. Check that the displayed session details are correct and click on "Register".
  5. Print the registration confirmation for record.

Dress Code For Graduands

Graduands will be required to put on the Graduation Attire during the Ceremony.
To complement the Graduation Attire, all graduands are strongly advised to observe the following dress code:

Male

  1. Long sleeved shirt with tie
  2. Dark coloured pants
  3. Short neat hair / natural tone
  4. Business shoes with socks

Female

  1. Dress / Blouse, preferably with a high collar
  2. Skirt of appropriate length (just above knee level or longer) or Formal pants
  3. Neat hairdo / natural tone
  4. Court shoes or pumps; Slingbacks; Plain-coloured stockings without prints

Graduation Attire

All graduands wishing to participate in the Graduation Ceremony will be required to put on the graduation attire.

You may also place your order online and request for delivery of the attire if the above dates are not convenient for you. Delivery is within Singapore only and is a chargeable service by the Graduation Attire supplier.  Please contact the supplier for details.  The period for online order and delivery request is from 7 April 2008 to 7 May 2008. You will receive your attire within 10 working days. The website for online order / delivery request is www.achieversplus.com.sg.  Please refer to the Graduation Attire insert for more details.
You are strongly advised to be at the Ceremony venue 1 hour before the start of the session so that you would have sufficient time to mark your attendance and put on the attire. You are also advised to mark your attendance first before proceeding to put on the attire.

Please note that if you do not return the attire by the above period, your full deposit will be forfeited.

All attires must be returned in good condition. A levy of $10 upwards will be charged for any damage to the Attire.


Alternative Diploma Collection Arrangements

Graduates who are unable to attend the Ceremony can collect their diploma after the week of the Graduation Ceremony:

Collecting Personally

Please bring along your Matriculation Card and Identity Card/ Passport / Birth Certificate as proof of your identity for collection.

Collecting by Proxy

If you are not able to collect your diploma personally, you may arrange for the collection by proxy. The proxy must bring your Matriculation Card and Identity Card/ Passport / Birth Certificate and his/her identity card together with the duly completed proxy form enclosed in the graduation package. Please note that the Polytechnic WILL NOT be liable for any damage to or loss of the diploma collected by the proxy.

Retention Period

The Polytechnic will keep your diploma for a period of 3 years. Thereafter, your uncollected diploma will be discarded. Request for a reprint of the diploma will be subject to the prevailing charges.


Settling Of Outstanding Fees & Loans

Please settle all outstanding fees, payments and loan of TP property by 30 April 2008. This includes library books, sports and any other equipment which is the property of TP.
Please note that your diploma will be withheld until the outstanding fees, payments and/or loans have been settled.


Frequently Asked Questions

1. What must I bring for the Graduation Ceremony?
Bring along your matriculation card.  You are required to produce your matriculation card when you report at the Graduand Registration Counter. You may produce your Identity Card if you have already returned your matriculation card. Please also bring along your graduation attire.

2. I am in NS. Can I attend the Graduation Ceremony?
TP will inform MINDEF about the Graduation Ceremony and will seek their assistance for the release of full-time National Servicemen (NSmen) for the respective graduation session. Please note, however, that the release of NSmen is subject to exigencies of service and training schedules of the respective units.
(NB : Some MINDEF units require your graduation letter as proof before releasing NSmen from their units)

3. Can I keep my matriculation card?
No, you are required to return your matriculation card when you report at the Graduand Registration Counter during the Graduation Ceremony. If you are not participating in the Graduation Ceremony, you may return your matriculation card to the Registrar's Office (by post or in person). If you have misplaced your matriculation card, you are required to make a police report and to submit a copy of the police report to us.

4. Am I allowed to take photos/video during the Ceremony?
You/Your guest may take photos/videos from your seats as long as you/your guest do not cause distraction or obstruction to the Ceremony proceedings. [A professional photographer will be engaged for the event. You may place your order with the appointed photographer after the ceremony.]


5. Does the folder presented on stage contain my diploma?
The folder presented on stage DOES NOT contain your diploma. After you are presented on stage, you will proceed to the Diploma Collection Counter. The staff at this Counter will give you your diploma before you make your way back to your seat.

6. I am a recipient of some Prizes / Awards. Will I receive a separate certificate indicating such?
Recipients of Prizes and/or Awards will receive a letter before the Graduation Ceremony notifying them of the Prizes and/or Awards that they have received. There will not be a separate certificate.

7. Can I request for additional admission tickets for my guests?
For the purpose of planning for capacity and food reception, we regret that we are capping at 2 admission tickets per graduand.
