The topics include: Formats and types of information; identifying a research topic; accessing information efficiently; evaluating information and sources of information; avoiding plagiarism; organising and communicating information.
Mathematics & Logical Thinking 1Logical Thinking 1This subject allows students to build a good foundation in basic Mathematics skills.
The topics taught include basic number operations and standard notation, mensuration, fractions, algebraic manipulation, solving of algebraic equations and logarithm.
Personal Development & Effectiveness 1Personal Development & Effectiveness 1This subject is the first module of the preparatory programme to develop students in their personal development to become effective learners with good character as they make their transitional journey towards polytechnic education.
This subject provides the theoretical concepts and practical arena for students to examine and build upon their cognitive, psychological, social and moral domains. It enables students to learn values through hands-on activities.
Fitness & Wellness 1Fitness & Wellness 1The F&W modules aim to provide an overview of the 5 components of physical fitness; Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Flexibility and Body Composition.
The modules cover the fundamentals of fitness, strength and conditioning through Resistance Band workout, Swiss Ball exercise, Trampoline exercise, Weight Resistance workout etc.
Opportunity to experience the rigour and robustness of Aqua-aerobics, Dance or Self-Defence in a social and recreational setting will also be provided.
