Setting the tone for youth radio programme

LUSH 99.5 gave the second-year students room to develop the new radio series on their own.

TP’s Communications & Media Management students have become the first from a polytechnic to produce a series for Singapore’s newest radio station, LUSH 99.5.

In a series of programmes called “Lush Lab”, the nine students reached out to their peers on topics ranging from trends and technology to fashion and fantasy. Each programme was aired five times a day over eight weekends from 14 May.

Mr Bernard Lim, General Manager of English Programming at MediaCorp Radio, spoke of the quality of the students’ work: “We are heartened by the quality of their work. It is obvious that a lot of time, effort and planning had gone into producing the capsules. We are also encouraged by the positive feedback from our listeners.”

With this good response, another series is being planned. This will take the LUSH-TP partnership well into 2006.
