Record breaking time at Robo Grand Prix

Students get their Robo-Racer ready before the flag-off.

A NEW record time was set at the TP-organised annual Singapore Robo Grand Prix. The result reflected the ever-improving standards in the highly competitive event.

Woodlands Ring Secondary School, which successfully defended its Premier League category crown, improved its timing from last year’s 36.96 sec to 32.38 sec. 145 teams from 50 secondary schools, JCs and ITEs took part in the event which was held at Funan DigitaLife Mall from Feb 3 to 5.

Participants had to design their own robots, known as Robo-Racers, which were then raced along a track. The event is a tripartite collaboration, with TP providing the software and training the participants in robotic technology; Alpha Innovations Pte Ltd providing the Robo-Racers; and CapitaLand Ltd sponsoring the venue.
