TP launches five new courses in 2007

"With the strong growth of air travel in the region, it is timely that TP offers this new course... It will fill the gap in meeting the strong demand for trained personnel in the air transport industry in Singapore and the region."
Mr Goh Chin Ee,
Director, Singapore Aviation Academy,
Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore

Potential students found out more about the new programmes during course advisement at TP in February 2007.

TP's New Offerings:
Aviation Management & Services
Baking & Culinary Science
Environment Design
Retail & Hospitality Design
Veterinary Technology

ALWAYS in tune to market demands, TP has launched five new market-driven courses for the academic year that begins in April 2007.

The Aviation Management & Services course, introduced by Temasek Engineering School, is a first in Asia. It will produce an elite group of highly trained para-professionals who can meet the specialised business needs and high standards of excellence required by the booming aviation industry.

The two new courses launched by Temasek Applied Science School are the Baking & Culinary Science course and the Veterinary Technology course. They are the first of their kinds in Singapore. With the increasingly sophisticated demands of the F&B market here and rising health concerns, graduates of the Baking & Culinary Science course can expect good employment opportunities in the F&B market and in food research. Likewise, demand for skilled manpower in the field of veterinary technology has been on the rise, with the increase in the pet trade and rise in the use of animals in R&D.

Temasek Design School’s new course in Environment Design deals with the design and execution of external spaces like civic plazas and neighbourhood centres. It focuses on quality design for the environment which is a major issue in developing and developed nations. The course in Retail & Hospitality Design will groom design professionals for the retail and hospitality sectors including F&B, leisure and entertainment-related spaces.

Not surprisingly, industry support for all five courses has been considerable, as the graduates will meet the manpower gaps in the related industries. With the introduction of these new courses, applicants to TP now have an even wider selection of 43 full-time courses to choose from.
