TP's design students celebrate unprecedented feats

The six students who won a “priceless” victory for their communication solution for MasterCard that led to a clean sweep of awards at the One Club creative competition.

DESIGN students at TP have achieved two unprecedented feats: becoming the first from Singapore to win at the prestigious International Design Awards (IDA), Los Angeles, USA; and winning the top awards at the inaugural One Club creative competition.

At the IDA, which recognises world design visionaries and aims to discover emerging talent, four TP students took first, second and third prizes in three separate categories in the students’ section.

Six students also took top awards at the first ever One Club creative competition and workshop staged in South Asia and South East Asia. Their feat gave Temasek Design School the rare honour as the only design institution from Singapore to have won gold, while Malaysia took the silver and Indonesia the bronze trophies. The team struck gold with their submission for a catchy Mastercard campaign titled “Mastercard Holders Travel Naked”, to emphasise worldwide acceptance for the card.
