The Temasek Culinary Academy, Temasek Polytechnic’s $5.5 million,
state-of-the-art F&B complex was officially launched on Aug 15 by Minister of State for Education, Mr Gan Kim Yong.

With Singapore expecting to triple tourism receipts to $30 billion and double visitor arrivals to 17 million by 2015, this move by TP will help boost manpower training for the hospitality sector.

“This Academy is set to stir up the local F&B industry,” remarked Mr Gan Kim Yong at the launch ceremony. He continued: “The Academy will have all the facilities needed to educate and train students with the relevant culinary skill sets necessary to take our hospitality and leisure industry to a higher plane.”

Equipped with modern, high-quality food production and restaurant
equipment, the design of the space was conceptualised by TP staff. They
visited premier culinary institutes such as the Culinary Institute of America,
and adapted some of the best ideas and concepts to the Academy’s unique setup.

The Academy is the newest facility at Temasek Polytechnic which has,
over the years, established itself as the premier tertiary institution which
offers the most comprehensive package of hospitality, tourism and culinary
training courses.
