IT student is world champion at Microsoft Office challenge

TP’s Information Technology students, Loke Lup Peng and
Jonah Victor Dela Cruz, have done Singapore and TP proud
at the worldwide competition on Microsoft Office held from
July 19 to 21.
Lup Peng emerged the World Champion in the Microsoft
Word category, while Jonah is first runner-up in the Microsoft
Excel category. Both did exceedingly well, competing with the
best candidates from around the world. The competition was
organised by Certiport, a world leader in
computer skills and knowledge certification,
and held at Disney’s Contemporary Resorts
in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida,
USA.
In May 2007, Lup Peng and Jonah were
crowned national champions in the Microsoft
Word and Excel categories respectively. It
is the first time that a tertiary institution has
won top spots in both categories. |
