TP’s ‘Dream Team’ takes top culinary prize

Smiles of success from the triumphant Dream Team.

"World-class cuisine with world-class service" is the deeply-cherished cornerstone philosophy of Temasek Culinary Academy and has helped the Academy win top honours in the Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) 2008 Culinary Challenge.

A team from the Academy, comprising students and staff from the Culinary & Catering Management (CCM) and Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) diploma courses, clinched the only Gold medal in the Dream Team Challenge, the coveted Overall Best Dream Team prize and a Bronze medal in the Two to Tango challenge.

Held during the biennial FHA 2008 (the biggest international food and hospitality trade event in Asia), the Culinary Challenge is one of the most recognised culinary competitions that sees practitioners in the F&B industry compete with their peers. Truly an international competition, participants hailed from Dubai, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan and USA.

Mr Tan Hsien Wei, course manager of the CCM programme said: “Our team has done TP proud. This win reaffirms that we are doing the right things in training the next generation of F&B professionals.”
