TP's creative parade
at NDP2005

The
tireless efforts by the TP design team resulted
in the youthful and meaningful NDP 05 logo.
|
THEMED “The Future is Ours to Make”, the
National Day Parade (NDP) this year features the work
of creative talents from TP. The Polytechnic is honoured
to have the opportunity to assist the NDP 05 Organising
Committee in a variety of areas.
The official logo was created by a team from Temasek
Design School (DES). Led by lecturer, Mr Hon Soo Tien,
nine students worked with him for over five months to
complete the youthful and meaningful design that was
unveiled on 6 April. Another five DES students designed
the funpacks that will be given out during the NDP.
Included in the pack is a commemorative CD-ROM produced
by two DES students that captures the essence of 40
years of nation-building.

Temasek Information Technology School students
who worked on the highly-interactive official
website for NDP 05.

Temasek Information Technology School students not only
designed the official NDP 05 website, but also worked
on the backend data programming, and the mobile and wireless
applications. The highly-interactive website (www.ndp.org.sg)
will offer live streaming of the celebrations. Also, Temasek
Business School students are producing a series of videos
that will be part of the National Day Celebrations.
The experience in contributing to the nation in these
special ways was gratifying for the students. Xui Wei,
whose website design was the one ultimately selected,
said: “I felt a sense of satisfaction seeing that
the fruit of our labour - the website is now ‘live’
for all Singaporeans here and abroad to view. I am proud
that I was able to play a part in making this possible.”
