TP adopts Bedok Reservoir

Being the institution nearest to the reservoir, TP has long been closely associated with it.

ON 24 August, TP officially “adopted” the Bedok Reservoir for two years, as part of a programme introduced by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) called “Our Waters”. The programme is aimed at raising public awareness of the need to keep our water resources clean.

Being the institution closest to the reservoir, TP has helped to promote the use of the reservoir for sporting activities. Earlier this year, it held the very successful inaugural Temasek Regatta which saw the participation of teams from 15 secondary schools, in addition to some 4,000 TP students.

Since the adoption, TP has been managing the facilities booking and scheduling of activities at the reservoir. It has also supported events such as the HSBC Wakeboard World Cup 2005 and the Clean & Green Week 2005. Its future plans include encouraging even more activities at the reservoir, as well as working with the PUB to conduct biodiversity studies that will record the various species of living organisms in the reservoir.”
