Two TP students have started a venture which is set to profit the Young-En Care Centre (YCC), a charity organisation for aged citizens and needy children.

The students from the Business Process & Systems Engineering course have developed a fully-automated website which links the buyer and seller of anti-mosquito products. Orders received online are automatically routed to the supplier, BestChem Pte Ltd, which then delivers the products to the buyer, while the students collect the commission.

The business model and website, which were developed as part of the students’ final-year Major Project, were exhibited at the “War Against Dengue” event organised by the Geylang Serai Community Centre and the YCC Charity Golf event in September.

Project member Deanne Soh, explained: “Besides doing this as part of our Major Project, we are glad that we are helping in some ways to fight dengue, while also contributing to a charitable cause.”
