AFTER a 20-week internship, six Leisure & Resort
Management (LRM) students from TP embarked on a
three-month ‘Sentosa Aprenticeship Programme’. Their
mission was to execute an event they had onceptualised for Sentosa Leisure Group in the classroom.
Called Spooktacular, the students soon roped in other
LRM students as volunteers over two weekends in
October. Images of Singapore, a museum on Sentosa,
was transformed into a haunted mansion filled
with ghosts and ghouls of Singapore’s past. Giving
Halloween a distinct Asian feel, visitors to the event
mingled with and were spooked by pontianaks and
Chinese vampires. The event proved to be a huge
success.
"I find the team working on Spooktacular to be really “BOOMZ… BOOMZ!!!!!” While credit is given to the team,
special mention must also be given to the volunteers who gave 110% in their roles as ghostly characters. It has been a
pleasure working with Temasek Polytechnic and I look forward to more good years."
