TP hosts SAF Day celebration

Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Raymond Lim was briefed on the items in the static display and exhibition.

AS part of its continuing support of national defence
efforts, TP hosted the SAF Day 2006 Rededication
Ceremony for operationally ready NSmen in the eastern sector of Singapore on June 30.

Mr Raymond Lim, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, was the guest of honour at the event which was also attended by the Chief of Army, MG Desmond Kuek Bak Chye. Some 400 people, representing operationally ready NSmen, military guests, representatives from educational institutions and companies in the East, as well as TP staff and students attended the event.

The guests were treated to an impressive exhibition and static display highlighting SAF’s 3G fighting force capabilities put up by the 3rd Singapore Division of the Army, and both the Army and Air Force Recruitment Centres. This is the eighth year that TP has hosted
the event.
