The Learning Academy (LA) is testimony to Temasek Polytechnic’s (TP) commitment to staff capability development. The Academy develops and conducts professional development programmes for TP staff in areas such as learning-teaching, e-learning, leadership and innovation. It also provides opportunities for continuing professional development through learning events ranging from small team discussions to international conferences. For example, at the annual LA Fest internationally renowned academics are invited to deliver keynote addresses.
In addition, the Academy provides leadership in educational projects in areas such as digital technologies, Problem-based Learning, assessment and plagiarism. It conducts research in areas related to learning and teaching, and encourages and supports TP lecturers to also engage in research.
The Learning Academy encompasses five Networks, three Threads and a Centre of Excellence.
Networks connect all TP staff via collaborative workplace learning and programmes or projects aimed at enhancing and developing skills to learn and innovate.
Threads provide a mechanism for staff to facilitate learning in and across the Networks.
Centre of Excellence
The Temasek Centre of Excellence for Problem-Based Learning (TCPBL) provides professional development in PBL and undertakes strategic projects and research in PBL.
