Communications Dynamics Thread
The Communications Dynamics Thread seeks to develop staff in a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes pertaining to language and communication. It designs programmes in response to the needs of Schools and Departments in TP. Monthly workshops are conducted by selected academic staff from the Schools.
Mentoring Thread
The Mentoring Thread (or Fostering Academic Mentoring Excellence, FAME) seeks to build a community of academic mentors in TP whose primary responsibilities are to guide, advise, counsel, provide role models and support protégés in effective learning-teaching practices.
Research Thread
The Research Thread (or Initiatives in Collaborative Action Research in Education, iCARE) aims to nurture a culture of research at TP. It supports staff in their journey to become teacher-researchers through the action research process and to discuss contemporary issues in higher education. As part of LA’s commitment to educational research, LA full-time staff members seek to contribute to relevant publications and conference presentations. TP’s three cohorts of staff who have graduated from the Master of Education programme with the University of Sheffield demonstrate TP’s commitment to lifelong learning and educational research. The Master of Education theses have explored a wide range of pedagogical issues.
