TP releases survey results on perception and purchase behaviour of Singaporean youths Date: 10 Dec 07
According to a survey done by students from Diploma in Marketing and Diploma in Retail Management, Singapore youths are a sensible group when it comes to making purchases. It was found that youths are more rational in their purchase behaviour than normally perceived. They are quality conscious, will study options before their purchase and brand is not the most important criterion in their purchases of products. View Press Release

TP announces a new school, 2 new diplomas and re-names its IT School for Academic Year 2008/2009 Date: 07 Dec 07
Students joining Temasek Polytechnic in April for Academic Year 2008/2009, can look forward to a brand new School – the Temasek Humanities & Social Sciences School and two new full-time diploma courses, the Diploma in Psychology Studies and the Diploma in Interactive Media Technology. TP successfully develops white bread with low glycemic ingredients Date: 04 Dec 07
Now diabetics here can eat their white bread and not feel guilty! This is possible thanks to lecturers from our Department of Applied Food Science and Nutrition at Temasek Applied Science School, who have developed white pan bread by replacing a percentage of bread flour with other low glycemic index (GI) ingredients. Campus Care Network Day Date: 16 Nov 07
CCN Day is a special day set aside for staff and students to join hands in a common and fun activity, raising funds for the Campus Care Emergency Network - a fund to help students who need urgent financial help in the event of emergencies like a death in the family, sudden hospitalisation or other financial crisis. TP’s Community Service Club wins President's Social Service Award Date: 13 Nov 07
TP's Community Service Club won the Informal Group Category of the President's Social Service Award (PSSA), a highly prestigious award, conferred by the office of the President of the Republic of Singapore. It honours and recognises outstanding voluntary contributions made to the social service sector. The awards are given out in four categories - individual, informal group, formal group/nonprofit or public sector organisation, and corporation. It is organised by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), with support and funding from the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
Asia’s first interactive digital centre opens in Singapore Date: 01 Nov 07
Temasek Polytechnic, EON Reality Inc. and IM Innovations Pte Ltd today announced the launch of Asia’s First Interactive Digital Centre (IDC), which has been set up in Temasek Polytechnic’s (TP) Engineering School. TP signs MOU with Lufthansa Technical Training Date: 23 Oct 07
Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Lufthansa Technical Training, Germany (LTT) signed a landmark Cooperation Agreement on Friday, 19 Oct 2007 which allows students doing the Options in Aerospace Electronics and Aerospace Engineering from the polytechnic’s Diploma in Electronics and Diploma in Mechatronics, to undergo an exclusive Aerospace training programme administered jointly by Temasek Engineering School and LTT. The Polytechnics are all set to woo youths to enter the rewarding field of engineering. Apart from debunking stereotypes, the Polytechnics have organised a series of workshops and quizzes to educate and excite youths. With effect from 1 Oct 2007, the Temasek IT School has been renamed as the Temasek Informatics & IT School. Informatics embodies the use of IT as well as the knowledge of domain areas such as financial services, digital media and cyber security to create solutions for people. The inclusion of the term “Informatics” in the school name opens up avenues for courses in more diverse and specialised areas, thereby giving the school that differentiating edge to groom IT professionals of the future. With effect from 1 Oct 2007, Temasek Polytechnic will establish a sixth school - the Temasek Humanities & Social Sciences School (HSS). The establishment of HSS positions TP as a comprehensive polytechnic offering a wide range of diploma courses, not just in the traditional fields such as business and engineering, but also in humanities and social sciences. It will also create connections within TP as HSS synergises with the five other schools to bring learning beyond technology and the hard sciences. View Details
