Tuition Grant Scheme

All full-time international students can apply for a tuition grant from the Singapore Government to enjoy subsidised education. You will need to sign a deed with the Singapore Government in return for the benefit of a subsidised education. You will be bonded to work in Singapore for 3 years upon completion of your course. Two sureties are required for executing the deed. They can be of any nationality but must be above 21 years of age and must not bankrupt. Your sureties can sign the deed in your country in the presence of a notary public.

If you choose not to apply for the tuition grant, you will pay the full international student fees during your course of study, including the semester when you do your Student Internship Programme (SIP).

Tuition Fee Loans

All full-time international students may apply for a tuition fee loan by 15 May of the year. The guarantor must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, above 21 years of age but below 60 years of age.

Financial Assistance

Your family should have sufficient finances to support your 3-year course of study and stay in Singapore. We do not have funds for you when you face financial difficulties. You are advised to make sure you have sufficient funds to maintain a minimum standard of living. As a student, you may attempt to supplement your income through part-time work. However, you should not rely upon this as the approval to work part-time is not always granted (please refer to information on Part-Time Employment).

The policy covers hospitalisation expenses due to illness and/or accidental injuries but not existing medical conditions and congenital anomalies. The premium is subject to change and its cost ranges from S$35 to S$50.
