The Temasek Polytechnic CCA Awards are awarded to students who have contributed significantly to Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) in the Polytechnic, in the areas of arts, sports or leadership.
Announcements
Nomination for the CCA Merit Award and the higher individual awards (Artiste/Sportsperson/Student Leader of the Year Awards, the CCA Gold Award) is done through the CCA Merit Award form. You may approach your respective advisors to nominate you by submitting a nomination form.
Please note that the closing date for application will be 18 April 2012, 6pm.

Eligibility
- Students of the Polytechnic involved in TP-Registered CCA Groups.
- Pass examinations of all subjects for the year of application.
- No disciplinary offence for the year of application.
Selection
- On receiving the application form, the selection committee will consider the nomination for the category that is most applicable.
- The list of shortlisted applicants will be forwarded to PCEO for endorsement.
- Selection is based on a set of pre-determined criteria, which includes amongst other things, standard of achievement, attendance, level of contribution, scale and number of projects, and demonstration of leadership skills and sportsmanship.
- The selection of applicants will be left to the Selection Committee, and the decision of the Committee is final. Neither direct communication nor appeals will be entertained.
Conditions
- The award may be withdrawn from the recipient, should inaccurate facts or information be given at the time of nomination.
- The Polytechnic reserves the right not to award any of the awards if no suitable candidates are identified.

CCA Gold Award
The award

Criteria
This is only applicable to a final year student who has been actively involved in the respective CCA throughout their stay in the Polytechnic and has:
- attained at least an "Excellent" grade in SEAL;
- brought honour and contributed to the Polytechnic;
- been a recipient of a CCA Merit Award;
- been instrumental in contributing to significant projects OR leading/training of students;
- displayed exemplary sportsmanship/ showmanship/ leadership and conduct in the respective CCA;
- represented the Polytechnic in competitions/events (with at least 5 participating institutions); and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a selection interview.
Sportsperson of the Year
The award
- Book Prize
- Certificate
- Plaque
- Name to be engraved on Honours Board.
Criteria
This is only applicable to a sportsperson who has been actively involved in the respective CCA for the year and has:
- represented the Polytechnic in an inter-tertiary competition (at least 5 participating institutions) for the year;
- achieved at least a silver medal finishing in an inter-tertiary competition for the year;
- displayed exemplary sportsmanship and conduct in the sports; and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a selection interview.
Artiste of the Year
The award
- Book Prize
- Certificate
- Plaque
- Name to be engraved on Honours Board.
Criteria
This is only applicable to an artiste who has been actively involved in the respective CCA for the year and has:
- preferably represented the Polytechnic in high-profile external event
- displayed excellent individual artistic skill and good conduct in the performing arts; and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a selection interview.
Student Leader of the Year
The award
- Book Prize
- Certificate
- Plaque
- Name to be engraved on Honours Board.
Criteria
This award is only applicable to a student leader who has been actively involved in the respective CCA for the year and has:
- led at least 2 significant high profile project(s);
- been instrumental in leading/training of students;
- displayed exemplary leadership;
- and maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a selection interview.
CCA Merit Award
The award
Criteria
This is awarded to a student who has been actively involved in the respective CCA for the year and has:
- attained at least "Excellent" grade in SEAL;
- significantly contributed to the organization events/projects or led/trained of students;
- displayed good sportsmanship/ showmanship/ leadership and conduct in the respective CCA; and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Sports
- represented the Polytechnic in inter-tertiary competitions (at least 5 participating institutions) and achieved a Silver medal in individual or team events for the year for POLITE or equivalent, or Bronze medal for IVP or National-level equivalent.
Arts
- preferably represented the Polytechnic in high-profile external events and achieved commended standards in performance.
Leadership
- led and organised at least 2 significant high profile projects for the year.

Sports Team of the Year
The award
Criteria
This is only applicable to a sports team that has:
- represented the Polytechnic in an inter-tertiary competition (at least 5 participating institutions) for the year;
- attained 1st position for the year;
- displayed excellent sportsmanship and team spirit; and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be notified to present themselves for an interview with the Selection Committee.
Arts Group of the Year
The award
Criteria
This is only applicable to an arts group that has:
- preferably represented the Polytechnic in a high-profile external event
- shown evidence of high artistic merit during the year and contributed to the vibrancy of campus life
- displayed excellent team spirit; and
- maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be notified to present themselves to the Selection Committee for an interview.
Interest Group of the Year
The award
Criteria
This is awarded to the student committee that has:
- contributed in an impactful way to any segment of the TP community or wider;
- demonstrated proper management of the organisation; and
- shown evidence of having organised club-driven and club-run projects and events (not merely involved in club-supported projects and events).
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be notified to present themselves to the Selection Committee for an interview.
Constituent Club of the Year
The award:
Criteria
This is awarded to the student committee that has:
- contributed in an impactful way to any segment of the TP community or wider;
- demonstrated good event management skills; and
- demonstrated proper management of the organisation.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be notified to present themselves to the Selection Committee for an interview.
