Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Scholarships are awarded to students who have contributed significantly to CCAs in the Polytechnic. Outstanding leadership qualities and academic performance are taken into consideration in the selection process. There are 2 types of Co-Curricular Activities Scholarship:
- CCA Full Scholarship: This is only open to students in their 2nd Year of Study.
- CCA Half Scholarship: This is open to all students.
Announcements
Applications for CCA scholarships are now open. The deadline for submission of application forms will be 6pm, 18 April 2012.
Eligibility
- Students of the Polytechnic.
- Students in receipt of any scholarship, tuition grant or bursary, will not be eligible.
- Pass examinations of all subjects for the year of application.
- No disciplinary offence for the year of application.
Value of Scholarships
- The value of a Full Scholarship is $2,100.00, which is equivalent to the amount of full tuition fee for one academic year.
- The value of the Half Scholarship is $1,050.00, which is equivalent to the amount of the tuition fee for one semester.
Selection
- On receiving the application form, the selection committee will consider the applicant for the category that is most applicable.
- The list of shortlisted applicants will be forwarded to PCEO.
- Selection is based on a set of pre-determined criteria, which includes amongst other things, standard of achievement, attendance, level of contribution, scale and number of projects, and demonstration of leadership skills and sportsmanship.
- Successful applicants can receive only one scholarship.
- The selection of applicants will be left to the Selection Committee, and the decision of the Committee is final. Neither direct communication nor appeals will be entertained.
Conditions
- The award may be withdrawn from the recipient, should inaccurate facts or information be given at the time of application.
- The Polytechnic reserves the right not to award any of the scholarships if no suitable candidates are identified.
Full Scholarship
The award
- Full tuition fee for one academic year.
Criteria
Applicants should have fulfilled the following minimum criteria:
- has been actively involved in CCA for the year of application and the preceding year;
- has preferably been a recipient of a CCA Award;
- has displayed exemplary sportsmanship/ showmanship/ leadership and conduct in the respective CCA;
- has been involved in leading/ training of students for the year;
- has maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year;
- has made significant contribution in the respective CCA;
- has preferably been involved in a community project.
Sports
- has represented the Polytechnic in IVP and/or equivalent competitions for the year;
- and has achieved at least 3rd position in individual or team events for the year.

- has performed / participated in a combination of at least 4 internal and external events for the year.

Half Scholarship
The award
- The amount of the tuition fee for one semester.
Criteria
Applicants should have fulfilled the following minimum criteria:
- has been actively involved in CCA for the year of application;
- has preferably been a recipient of a CCA Award;
- has displayed good sportsmanship/ showmanship/ leadership and conduct in the respective CCA;
- has preferably been involved in leading/training of students for the year;
- has maintained at least 70% attendance/involvement for the year;
- has made a substantial contribution in the respective CCA;
- has preferably been involved in a community project.
Sports
- has represented the Polytechnic in IVP and/or equivalent competitions for the year; and
- has achieved at least 4th position in the individual or team events for the year.
