What is this course about?
This course provides dual specialisation in accounting and finance to give you flexibility in your career and further studies. You will receive a good grounding in fundamental business subjects,and gain a solid grasp of accounting and finance through foundation subjects (such as Financial Accounting) in the first year. The second and final years build on industry knowledge and skills through subjects like Audit, Taxation, Corporate Reporting, Cost & Management Accounting, Business Finance, International Finance and Fundamentals of Investment. In the final year, you will select four electives from a range of Accounting/Audit/Tax, Banking and Investment subjects to fit your preferred career path.
You will learn through hands-on activities, such as industry projects and investment games, and gain exposure to accounting software, real-time financial databases and research tools widely used in the industry. There will be opportunities for overseas exposure through study trips and a 14-week Student Internship Programme.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must also have sat for at least one of the following subjects: Art/Art & Design, Business Studies, Combined Humanities, Commerce/Commercial Studies, Economics, Geography, Higher Art, Higher Music, History, Literature in English/Chinese/Malay/Tamil, Music, Principles of Accounts
* SPM/UEC holders must have a minimum grade of 6 for the Bahasa Inggeris (English Language) subject.

What is the cut-off-point for this course?
The Cut-Off-Point (COP) indicates the ELR2B2 aggregate score (after deducting CCA bonus points) of the last applicant posted to the course(s) under JAE. The previous year's COP serves only as a gauge. Admission is by merit and choice, subject to vacancy.

Is there any opportunity for further education?
Many of our graduates pursue further studies. Our diploma is recognised by the local universities: National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). In fact, our graduates are considered by the local universities for exemptions in their accountancy and business programmes. They also enjoy credit transfers to many overseas universities in Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Furthermore, our graduates are granted exemptions from selected modules of professional qualifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), ICSA (The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) and CMFAS (Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services) examinations.
