What is this course about?
Electrical & Electronic Engineering Programme serves as an entry point for five engineering diplomas. It is a common first year course that gives you a good grounding on the fundamentals of electrical and electronics engineering. Your options are open as you discover your interests in the first year. At the end of the first year, you can choose and pursue one of the five courses:
- Diploma in Electronics
- Diploma in Media & Communication Technology
- Diploma in Computer Engineering
- Diploma in Microelectronics
- Diploma in Aerospace Electronics*
*The Aerospace Electronics course was added recently to the list of courses that you can choose from as an Electrical & Electronic Engineering Programme student after completing your first semester.

What is the cut-off-point for this course?
The Cut-Off-Point (COP) indicates the ELR2B2 aggregate score (after deducting CCA bonus points) of the last applicant posted to the course(s) under JAE. The previous year's COP serves only as a gauge. Admission is by merit and choice, subject to vacancy.

Is there any opportunity for further education?
The five diploma courses are recognised by the local universities and many overseas universities.
Upon graduation, you can apply for engineering degree courses relevant to your field of study at either local or overseas universities, with one or two years of exemption.
You can also apply for courses in law, business administration, finance, accounting, arts, social sciences, and many others. The local universities admit polytechnic graduates to these courses, regardless of their diploma discipline.
