What is this course about?

This course is designed to produce IT professionals with the knowledge of infrastructure, mobile applications and IT Service Management (ITSM) to support the demands of the Infocomm industries.

What are the entry requirements?

English Language (EL1)* Grades 1-7
Mathematics (E or A) Grades 1-6
Any two other subjects, excluding CCAGrades 1-6

Applicants must have also sat for at least one of the following subjects:
Additional Combined Science, Additional Science, Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science, Computer Studies, Creative 3-D Animation, Design & Technology, Engineering Science, Food & Nutrition, Fundamentals of Electronics, General Science, Human & Social Biology, Integrated Science, Physics, Physical Science, Science (Chemistry, Biology), Science (Physics, Biology), Science (Physics, Chemistry), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

Note: Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from complete colour appreciation deficiency. Applicants with partial colour deficiency may apply. Applicants who do not satisfy the pre-requisite may not be accepted into the course.

* Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/Unified Examination Chinese (UEC) holders must have a minimum of grade 6 for the relevant English Language subject (e.g. Bahasa Inggeris).

What is the cut-off-point for this course?

The Cut-Off-Point (COP) indicates the ELR2B2 aggregate score (after deducting CCA bonus points) of the last applicant posted to the course(s) under JAE. The previous year's COP serves only as a gauge. Admission is by merit and choice, subject to vacancy.

What is so special about this course?

This course starts by introducing various core IT technologies such as web design and networking, and computing techniques such as programming and application development. These will lay the foundation for the IT core competencies. In year two, students will be competent in wired and wireless networking. In year 3, students will be introduced to specific skills required for the management of IT systems (using the IBM Tivoli tools) as well as specified skills required for designing and developing mobile applications such as iPhone/Android platforms that can enhance how businesses operate. You will be able to specialise in either Mobile Solutions or IT Service Management. Opportunities to enhance your understanding of specific business domains are also made available through elective subjects. These subjects address the banking and financial services, trade and logistics, sales and marketing, technopreneurship and other business-related areas.
