This cluster equips students with current and applicable skills and knowledge related to the business know-how of how to start a new venture. The cluster not only caters to entrepreneur to-be but also to students who recognise the importance of an entrepreneurial mind-set for their future career in whatever industry they move on to.  

The cluster offers coverage of entrepreneurial interests such as ideas generation, canvassing for start-up funds with effective business plan writing, e-testing of business ideas through the various internet platforms and social media, and being a socially responsible citizen or netizen in contributing back to the society.  

Subjects Offered *

Innovation Principles & Practice

The subject presents innovation and entrepreneurship as a practice and a discipline. It equips students with process skills for systematic innovation. Students will have the opportunities to experience the process of user observation/interviews, brainstorming, gathering feedback for validation of their designs and product refinement/redesign. Students will be able to propose business ideas through innovative thinking process, apply principles of innovation to solve problem/issue and suggest ideas to enhance designs of products/services in a systematical approach.

Basics of e-Entrepreneurship

This subject engages students from different disciplines who have an interest to be the next generation of e-entrepreneurs. In working through the project, students will learn the necessary skills and develop an entrepreneurial experience by setting up an internet business. The e-testing process allows a student to understand the importance of conducting market testing of the products or services offered before bringing them to the market, thus minimising the risk of a business failure.

Social Entrepreneurship

“The subject involves understanding of various enterprise start-ups in a social environment in contrast with an all-for-profit business venture. It comprises knowledge of social enterprise works, necessary skills of starting up a business, mobilizing available resources, identifying market opportunity and assessing market potentials of a business in a social context. This subject would encourage enterprising students to create a social impact for societies and to fulfill their future learning needs in a business start. Students will also study opportunities and challenges in working and communicating with beneficiaries of social communities and also propose business ideas to achieve a triple bottom-line objectives – Profit, People, Planet

Entrepreneurship and Business StartUp

This subject engages you from different disciplines in a project that has entrepreneurship perspectives and objectives. In working through the project, you will develop entrepreneurship process skills, and ultimately create a potential/ proposed business entity.
