Being in a country as open and diverse as Singapore, global issues are never so far away from us that we can afford to ignore them. TP works to ensure that our students develop the confidence and undergo experiences that enable them to be engaged in global developments. To do so, we have infused global realities into our programmes and developed a mindset on campus that embraces socio-cultural diversity.
TP’s International Relations & Industry Services Department supports the enhancement of staff capability development, student learning experience and graduate employability in order to achieve what we term as the “4G” outcomes. These outcomes, each one echoing our global outlook, are:
- Inculcating a Global Mindset in our staff and students
- Giving them an enriching Global Experience
- Forming Global Partnership with industry
- Establishing a strong Global Branding for TP
Strong Industry Links
Strong ties to industry keep TP close to industry practices and ensure our continued relevance in manpower training. While we gain from our industry partnerships through placements for student internships, knowledge sharing by industry practitioners, joint collaborations in training and facilities development, we have also been able to apply our own expertise and R&D to the industry context, thereby helping our partners.
The Relations & Industry Services Department is the coordinating department that works to develop partnerships with industry through consultancy, joint R&D projects, student internship and job placement.
Besides the above, IRIS also promotes innovation and commercialisation among staff and students; links TP with the world through international technical transfer programmes and projects, staff/student exchanges, overseas student internships; recruits quality international students and advises students on post-diploma and career options.
