Introduction
The need to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for each logistics operational area cannot be over-stated. They are measurements that indicate the health and the level of competency of the operations. However, driving operational performance goes beyond looking at the indicators itself. We need to know the factors driving the KPIs. The ability to manage an operation to perform so as to meet the established KPIs and beyond is a challenge faced by many executives and supervisors.
Course Objectives
The 1-day course aims to help participants understand the factors that drive logistics operational performance and apply to their work situation. Participants will be engaged in discussions and learn through participating in group activities. At the end of the course, participants are expected to:
- identify the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the various types of logistics operations
- explain the importance of having KPIs in operations.
- identify the factors that drive the KPIs in each logistics operations
- apply the approach to their own work situation
- formulate strategies for managing performance in logistics operations

Mr Teo Kee Boon - MBus(Log), B.Sc in Maths
Kee Boon is currently teaching statistics and developing a new elective subject on Bio-chemical logistics for implementation in the new academic year. Kee Boon has a basic degree in Science majoring in Mathematics. He obtained his Master of Business (Logistics) from the RMIT, Australia. He has spent 13 years as a logistics professional working in third party logistics companies, both local and MNCs. He managed local and regional operations for these companies. His logistics experience spans from warehouse, seafreight, airfreight, local transportation and managing the supply chain for global customers.
