Industry Capability Upgrading Programme (ICAP) Training Courses for Pets Enterprises and Traders Association, Singapore (PETAS)
Target Audience
Pet retail shop personnel in the pet industry for dogs, cats, rodents, rabbits and chinchillas.
Objective
- To impart skills and knowledge important for responsible animal care and welfare amongst the pet retail shop personnel.
- To provide knowledge about client education as part of their responsibility in promoting responsible pet ownership.

Lecture (16 hours)
- Animals and Birds Act Regulations
- Animal Housing
- Animal Care and Management
- Animal Health and Diseases
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Business Ethics and Management
- Client Education
Workshop (8 hours)
- Animal sexing
- Animal handling and restraint, e.g. for grooming
- Animal health physical checks
- Slides and video clips
