Course Description
Participants who have completed the Basic Counselling Skills (16 hours) workshop need to continuously practice the techniques they learnt, with appropriate supervision, in order to be competent. This Intermediate level workshop will introduce new higher level skills as well as focus on piecing all the skills together into an effective counselling session. Participants will do role-plays and case presentations, identify their strengths, and share alternative ideas. New skills focussing on second and subsequent sessions will also be taught. Trainer's Profile
Mr Alan Yeo
Singapore Registered Counsellor (SAC) Associate Trainer, Supervisor M.A., Med, Certified Solution Focused Therapist, Certified Coach (CCPC)
Alan has a Masters in Experimental Psychology and a Masters in Education with over 15 years experience as a therapist, trainer and lecturer. He holds a Specialist Diploma in Counselling and Guidance, a Post Graduate Diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and a Certificate in Eriksonian Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy.
He is in private practice and works frequently with families, couples and individuals, as well as being a lecturer and clinical supervisor for several universities and graduate programmes. He is a member of the Films Consultative Panel, appointed by MICA, and is also an appointed Family Life Ambassador by MCYS.
Alan was the Editorial Consultant for LIME teen magazine and co-authored a 2-year MCYS funded research project on “Abused Children”. He is a certified Solution Focused Therapist and certified Solution Focused Coach and is an approved supervisor with the CCPC. He conducts training in the solution focused model in Singapore.
