The advancement and speed of all social media communications, the messages, replies and TMI (too much information) has reach a contagious point. As a professional or propose to be one, then you need to attend this session to learn the rules of engagement. If you are already abiding the rules, then fantastic! But many professionals do not know or understand Facebook or social media Etiquette, and are using these social media without the full understanding of the potential consequences associated with them. In this session, crucial rules of engagement (in Facebook, Twitter, Blogs) will be shared (do not be surprised if you have already breach some of them) so that you, as professionals, will know how to navigate and use the social media to your advantage.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the importance of social media, its advantages and disadvantages
  • Comprehend how Facebook, Twitter and Blogs can be used to engage others
  • Know the fundamental social mediaetiquette
  • Understand the consequences associated with the "misused" or "misinterpretation" of social media
  • Learn and apply the 50 essential rules of engagement to harness the advantages of social media

Course Outline

In this session, you will learn the 50 rules of engagement which many of us have not put into practice, as we often do not know or understandFacebook or social media Etiquette, and are using these social media without the full understanding of the potential consequences associated with them. Participants in the sessionwill be taught how to applycrucial rules of engagement (in Facebook, Twitter, Blogs)so that you, as professionals, will know how to navigate and use the social media to your advantage.

Trainer's Profile

Aloysius Lee

Aloysius graduated with postgraduate degrees from Australia, after which he spent a good 7 years in total in Perth working for the then Bursewood Casino Hotel and eventually lead him to manage a 50 rooms motel in Northbridge. Under his management, he had managed to turn around a mediocre entity into one of the most profitable motels which was eventually sold after 2 years for a 400% return for investment. He was also an active faculty member with the Murdoch Business School. Since returning home in 2005, he joined the polytechnic as a lecturer and his last role was the Head of School of an established private education institution locally. Aloysius is actively involved in research, having published refereed journal articles, conference papers and 2 books. His current research interests involve investigating youth gaming motivations, consumers insight trend and behaviour. He had consulted and conducted applied research with the Singapore Tourism Board, Korea Tourism Organisation, Sentosa Leisure Group, Haw Par Group and e is in the midst of embarking his third book in Hospitality Marketing.
