Course Objectives
The course aims to impart knowledge and technical skills in logistics, especially in the areas of transport and warehousing. Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:
- appreciate the concepts and techniques in logistics management;
- apply knowledge and skills to basic shipping functions; and
- assist in warehousing operations.
Entry Requirement
At least 21 years of age and have completed Secondary 2 education.
Award of Basic Certificate in Logistics
For a participant to be awarded Basic Certificate in Logistics, he/she needs to fulfil the following criteria:
1. Successful completion of the following Skills Certificate courses offered by Temasek Polytechnic:
AND
2. Recognition of Singapore Employability Skills System (ESS). Attain Statements of Attainment (SOAs) with at least Level 5 in the following ESS modules:
- Workplace Literacy (Reading and Listening) – Intermediate Level
- Workplace Numeracy – Intermediate Level
- Basic ICT Skills – from Information Communication Technologies ESS
- Workplace ICT Applications (Operations) – from Information Communication Technologies ESS
Progression Path
Participants who have been awarded the Basic Certificate in Logistics are eligible to apply for Certificate in Logistics (Transport Management) or Certificate in Logistics (Store Management).
