Matriculation Card and Lanyard
Will I be given a Student Matriculation Card and what are its uses? All TP students, except participants of short courses, will be issued with a matriculation card and a lanyard. To facilitate identification, please wear the lanyard with the matriculation card when you are on campus. The matriculation card entitles you to use the sports and recreational facilities.
What if I lose or damage my Student Matriculation Card? You need to report it to PDC immediately and complete the Matriculation Card Replacement form. If you lose your card, you will need to submit a copy of the police report together with the request form. You must also inform the library staff immediately of the loss of matriculation card to prevent unauthorised loans. A replacement fee will be charged accordingly.
Attendance
Do I need to be present for all the lessons? You must attain at least 75% overall attendance for classes, inclusive of all approved leave of absence, failing which you will be debarred from taking the examination/assessments. If you need to apply for leave of absence, please submit the Application for Leave of Absence form to PDC with the supporting documents at least 2 weeks before the commencement of your leave.
Application for Leave of Absence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. PDC will inform you of the outcome of your application.
If I miss a class, will there be a make-up session? There will be no make-up session(s) if you are not able to attend the class.
How do I inform PDC of my absence due to MC? You will need to submit the Submission of Medical Leave form to PDC with the original medical certificate or certified true copy within 3 working days from the last day of your medical leave.
What happens if the teaching staff fails to turn up for lectures/classes? All lectures/classes are deemed to be cancelled if the teaching staff fails to turn up 30 minutes after the start of class.

Request for Deferment/Withdrawal
Can I request to defer the course? Please submit a written request to PDC stating reasons for deferment with the supporting documents. The application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. No deferment will be granted to students who are taking the modular courses.
Students requesting for deferment will still be considered an active student of TP and is required to remain in the course of study until the deferment request is approved.
There will NOT be any refund of course fees if the request for deferment is approved.
I wish to withdraw from the course. What should I do? You may submit a written request to PDC together with your matriculation card. If you have outstanding course fee or library loans, please settle the fee and return all library books before submitting your request. Course fee will NOT be refunded after a course has commenced.
No withdrawal will be allowed for withdrawal notices received within 14 calendar days before commencement of each semestral examination until the release of the examination results.
Student Status/Particulars and Correspondence
I need a letter to certify that I am taking a part-time course. How can I get it? Please submit the Student Status Letter Request form to PDC. A letter certifying your student status will be generated at no charge.
I have changed my home address/contact number. How do I inform PDC? You may submit the Information Update form, together with the supporting document to PDC. The information will be updated within 2 working days.

Sports and Recreational Facilities
