Divider

SAA conducts NAPFA test during the second semester annually. The National Physical Fitness Award (NAPFA) test is compulsory for all final-year polytechnic students (males & females) who are medically fit. It is a test of a person's overall physical fitness as they are required to go through 6 test stations namely the 2.4 km run, sit-up, sit and reach, standing broad jump, shuttle run and pull up.

As an incentive, students' participation is recognised and recorded in the students' Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) transcript and CCA points are given depending on their level of performance. Participation in the NAPFA test will be reflected as Gold, Silver, Bronze, Participated in the transcript.

Apart from the tests conducted by SAA, National Service liable male students can also take their test conducted by MINDEF at the Toa Payoh Sports Complex. The results should be submitted to SAA to be recorded in the CCA transcripts.

Students who have completed National Service are also required to take the test unless they can produce their IPPT result which is valid for one year.
