Course Overview

In this practical assessment, the approved flight examiner (AFE) will conduct proficiency checks and lifting of limitations leading to a Class A (Rotorcraft) Unmanned Aircraft (UA) Pilot License (UAPL).

 

Class A (Rotorcraft) will include the following:

  • Multi-rotor up to 7kg (UA must weigh at least 1kg and flyable in ATTI mode)
  • Multi-rotor up to 25kg (UA must weigh at least 15kg and flyable in ATTI mode)
  • Helicopter below 25kg (UA must weigh at least 1 kg and flyable in ACRO mode)

Entry Requirements

 

  • Applicant must pass the CAAS UAPL theory exam or hold a valid UAPL.
  • Applicant must have a good command of the English language.
  • Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
  • The applicant is required to bring their own unmanned aircraft


    DRONE CHECK

    Applicant must download, complete and email the DRONE USE REQUEST FORM to Mr Desmond Ng (desmond_ng@tp.edu.sg) to validate that his/her drone is suitable for use. Applicants must upload the approved form during their application.

What You'll Learn

The assessment will consist of the following assessment tasks:

  • General Knowledge of UAS Functions
  • UAS Checks
  • Flight Manoeuvres via Manual Control
  • Mission Planning and Execution
  • Emergency Procedures

 

 

Certification

 

Participants who pass the assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Accomplishment, and their names will be submitted to CAAS.
