The Security Industry IDP developed by IMDA in partnership with MHA also includes a roadmap on training to prepare the security industry’s workforce with the necessary mindset and skills to adopt and benefit from technology.

Drones could be used across hi-tech Singapore to deliver life-saving medical supplies to a patient during an emergency or to respond to a security breach under a new system in development, a private consortium said Tuesday (Jul 24). Read here.

The Security Industry Transformation Map (ITM) was announced by Second Minister for Home Affairs and Manpower Josephine Teo on 13 Feb 2018. The Security ITM encourages security companies to move away from just supplying manpower to instead make use of technology to deliver security solutions more effectively.  

A new specialist diploma in security consultancy will be developed by the MHA's Centre for Protective Security Studies and the Security Industry Institute under Temasek Polytechnic. Its first intake is planned for 2019. Read here.

Three of the five recipients of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) SkillsFuture Study Awards that were SII students were featured in Berita Harian (pg 12, 5 Nov)  - Nur Khafi Shamsi, Mohammed Amin Ahmed and Muhamed Fareez Basheer. All  are currently working with different security companies and studying for the Diploma in Security Management, Security Industry Institute, Temasek Polytechnic. The awards, valued at $5,000 each, are meant to support their pursuit of industry-relevant diploma or degree courses.
