What is it?

The SkillsFuture Series is a curated list of short, industry-relevant training programmes that focuses on emerging skills in the four economic growth pillars (Digital, Green, Care, and Industry 4.0).

Who is it for?

Targeted at Singaporeans who are keen to either gain a basic understanding or deepen their skills in these economic growth pillars, the SkillsFuture Series comprises training programmes across 3 proficiency levels, namely Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.

DIGITAL ECONOMY

Digital

The Digital Economy is a marketplace defined, organised, enabled and facilitated by digital technologies. With the rapid advancements in digitalisation and digital services driven by AI, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity and 5G, old paradigms and business models are being challenged.

Riding on the post-COVID-19 wave, Digital Economy-related skills in areas such as software development and cloud, systems and infrastructure continue to see high demand and high transferability.

GREEN ECONOMY

Green

The Green Economy is about living, working and pursuing growth, while taking care of the environment and using the limited resources available as efficiently and sustainably as possible. In achieving the environmental, economic and social outcomes of the Green Economy, jobs and skills are impacted.

Many existing jobs will require green skills, as companies across sectors adopt more environmentally sustainable practices and develop sustainability targets for compliance and reporting.

CARE ECONOMY

Care

The Care Economy is a professional cluster of jobs and skills that provides care, wellness, and learning services involved in the nurturing and teaching of current and future populations. Sectors delivering these services typically involve healthcare, wellness, community care, social service, early childhood, general education, and training and adult education.

Preventive care, workplace learning, transformative human resource, learning and development practices, as well as the importance placed on mental well-being are driving changes to jobs and skills in the Care Economy.

INDUSTRY 4.0

Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 (I4.0) involves the automation and digital transformation of manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern and smart technologies such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), robotics, and smart manufacturing.

In recent years, I4.0 implementation has enhanced work processes in many sectors and industries in manufacturing and trade and connectivity, transforming jobs and skills.

Funding

1. 70% course fee support for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents aged 39 & below.

 

2. Enhanced funding schemes

 

  • SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) | 90% subsidy for Singaporeans aged 40 & above
  • Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS) | 90% subsidy for SME sponsored Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents
