Ethereum, Smart Contracts and Dapps - while technology changes fast, Blockchain technologies progress at the speed of light. For software developers who wish to develop for the Blockchain, this technical workshop will bring you up to speed.
This is an introductory hands-on training that exposes software developers to the suite of technologies that lay the foundations for Blockchain development. In two days, you will set up your own Ethereum node, write and execute your first smart contract and expose your smart contract to be executed as a Distributed App on a web browser.
Upon completing this course, Participants will finish the workshop with:
Software Developers in Financial Services or those who aspire to break into this area.
Some computer programming experience.
Day 1: Basics of Ethereum
This session focuses on what Ethereum, and on a generic scale, what Blockchain is. You will set up your personal Linux environment on the cloud and run an Ethereum node to connect to the Ethereum Blockchain. You will also set up a private Blockchain among course participants.
Day 2: Solidity Smart Contract & Distributed Apps
This session focuses on Smart Contracts development. You will write a smart contract and deploy it on the Ethereum Blockchain. You will develop a Distributed App that allows your smart contract to be executed via a web user interface.
To consolidate your knowledge, you will code a small project that incorporates everything that you have learnt. To end the session, we will discuss possible use cases for Smart Contract and the Blockchain.
Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Accomplishment upon meeting 75% of the required course attendance.
