Introduction

The advertising landscape has evolved beyond mere creative and stylistic execution, thus it is necessary to encompass strategic appropriation of multi-channels, content creation, user interface and experience.

This Specialist Diploma in Integrated Digital Communication offered under the SkillsFuture Earn & Learn Programme (ELP) for the Design sector is a 12-month work-study programme targeted primarily at local fresh Polytechnic graduates from relevant full-time design-related courses of study. It aims to equip participants with the knowledge to utilise and manage multi-channels to reach consumers in strategic methods as well as to engage them in the ways they will interact with the channels. 

Target Participants

Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents who are fresh Polytechnic graduates from relevant full-time courses of study.

Career Opportunities

At the entry level, the job positions are Digital Creative or Junior Designer1. Upon completing the course under the Earn and Learn Programme, graduates can look forward to taking up some of the possible types of positions:

  • Advertising Strategist
  • Senior Designer
  • Digital Art Director
  • UI/UX Designer
  • Creative Consultant
  • Information Architect
  • Creative Consultant 

ELP graduates may also look forward to wage increment and role expansion in their workplace, subject to their work performance.

Course Details

Course Commencement 

The ELP Design programme is scheduled to commence in every April and/or October.

Course Duration

ELP participants will undergo a 12-month structured training programme, including facilitated learning, e-learning, and on-job-training (OJT).

Course Structure

Upon completion of the Specialist Diploma course, graduates should be able to:

a)      conceptualize and develop advertising strategies;

b)      develop effective and coordinated advertising communication campaigns;

c)      generate concepts using different creative methodologies, and

d)      produce an effective integrated advertising campaign with different media                          applications including for digital devices. 

Participants will be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Integrated Digital Communication upon successful completion of the following:

Modes of Assessment

The assessment would be based on a combination of coursework components such as written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

MOE subsidy will not be applicable for students who repeat a module or semester.

Fees payable is based on per PDC.

The course fees will be reviewed by MOE on an annual basis and adjusted accordingly.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for ELP Design

Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents who are within three years of either graduation from the polytechnics or the Operational Ready Date for National Servicemen from the following full-time programmes are eligible to apply.

Only for Singapore Citizens who are fresh ITE or Polytechnic graduates hired by Participating Companies and officially commenced ELP within 3 years of graduation or ORD.

Selection of applicants is at the discretion of the participating companies and participating companies will contact their shortlisted applicants for interview. Applicants have the right to reject the interview if they do not wish to be employed by the company who contacted them.

Only applicants who are hired and placed on the ELP by the participating companies will be invited to submit an online application for the ELP Courses.
