Jointly developed and delivered by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), this 18-month Work-Study Post-Diploma programme will allow participants to deepen their skills at the workplace while taking up Skills-based Modular Courses (SBMC) from Bachelor of Science in Facilities and Events Management. 

This Work-Study Programme is an added pathway for individuals who wish to further their education in a related field of study in facilities and events management, as they may receive credit recognition for the undergraduate part-time degree programme.

Target Participants

This Work-Study Post-Diploma programme is for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who are within three years of graduation from the polytechnics or Operationally Ready Date for National Servicemen from relevant full-time courses of study, who wish to pursue a career in the real estate, facilities and/ or events management industry.

Upon completing the programme, graduates can look forward to role expansion in their work scope. Course Details

Course Commencement

Every January and/or July.

Course Duration

Participants will undergo an 18-month structured training programme, including facilitated learning by SUSS and TP and On-Job-Training (OJT).

Course Structure

SUSS-TP Joint programme in Business and Service participants are required to complete a total of 45 Credit Units or 9 SBMC curated from SUSS’s Bachelor of Science in Facilities and Events Management programme over 3 semesters.  Three SBMCs must be completed in 1 semester, i.e. 6 months.  Participants must complete the course within 18 months.

Upon successful completion of each SBMC, participants will be awarded the university’s course certificate. A certificate of completion conferred jointly by TP and SUSS will be issued upon meeting the requirement of passing all 9 modules within 18 months (ie. within 3 consecutive semesters).

Progression and Credit Recognition

Participants who successfully complete this programme will be are eligible for credit recognition of up to 45 credit units for the SBMCs they have passed and up to another 5 credit units for workplace learning which can be used for the relevant part-time undergraduate degree programme in SUSS.  Participants who wish to apply for admission and credit recognition to the relevant SUSS part-time undergraduate degree programme may do so directly with SUSS after the completion of this Work-Study Programme.

Modes of Assessment

The courses in this programme are either written examination or End-of-Course Assessment based, incorporating both formative and summative assessments. The assessment framework will include a range of coursework assignments, pre-class quizzes and end-of-semester examinations.

Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents who are within three years of either graduation from polytechnics or the Operationally Ready date for National Servicemen, from the following full-time programmes are eligible to apply.

Fresh diplomas graduates in the following discipline will be eligible to apply for this programme.

Only for Singapore Citizens who are fresh ITE or Polytechnic graduates hired by Participating Companies and officially commenced the Work-Study Post-Diploma programme within 3 years of graduation or ORD.

Only applicants who are hired and placed on the Work-Study Post-Diploma Programme by the participating companies will be invited to submit an online application for the part-time Courses.
