Beauty is subjective. It looks different to everyone, with no one-size-fits-all standard. Depending on the culture, the definition of beauty constantly shifts, shaped by unique traditions, beliefs, and social norms. What one society values as beautiful may have a completely different meaning in another society. A person’s upbringing also plays a major role in how they perceive beauty. From a young age, we are influenced by what our families, communities, and media celebrate as “beautiful.” These influences shape how we view ourselves and others. In some cultures, beauty may be seen in simplicity and natural grace, while in others, it is expressed through vibrant clothing, adornment, or craftsmanship. VARÉA shows that beauty is not fixed; it evolves, adapts and takes many forms, and it is up to people like us to explore what beauty means to others within their own cultural context, and to appreciate how it shapes our understanding of what it means to be beautiful.

Hi, I am April. I believe that fashion is a form of expression and visual communication that reflects personal identity, emotions and perspective.
I am drawn to thoughtful details, texture, colours and silhouettes that create depth and meaning within a garment. My goal is to design pieces that not only express creativity but also allow the wearer to feel confident and authentic in their own identity.
