ChaChaHaus is an evening-focused tea house designed to support mental unwinding in an overstimulated, always-on culture. Operating from 4–11pm, it addresses the transitional period between daytime productivity and nighttime sleep, where many individuals, especially Gen Z, struggle to slow down mentally. Rather than framing rest as sleep, ChaChaHaus redefines rest as an intentional evening ritual. Through calming spatial design, matcha-based beverages with gentle caffeine, and tactile, reflective touchpoints, the space encourages decompression, emotional regulation, and mindful pauses at the end of the day. By focusing on gradual unwinding rather than instant rest, the project explores how everyday environments can be designed to support mental well-being and help individuals develop healthier relationships with rest, presence, and self-care.
