Matatari is a Youth Malay Dance Festival aiming to inspire our Malay Youths in Singapore to carry on the flame of our cultural roots through the art of Tarian Melayu (Malay Dance). Hosted at Our Tampines Hub, Matatari includes breathtaking performances from many different Youth Groups across the island, exhibits to learn more about the performing art, costume tryouts to make you feel like a performer, and even a workshop for those interested in trying it out first-hand.
As human beings, we need culture in order to shape our identity, and without it, our sense of self would cease to exist. Hence, Matatari aims to keep the flame burning brightly so that the art of Tarian Melayu is passed down from generation to generation.
