Marine Nexus

Category
Life Below Water

Marine Nexus is a visitor centre that invites tourists and students on an emotional odyssey through the intricacies of our relationship with the sea. It focuses on recognising the sea's vulnerability to human activities and transcends traditional visitor centres by acting like a living, breathing space designed to evoke emotions and educate about local ocean conservation issues, including oil spills, land reclamation, marine pollution, and plastic waste. Responsible practices are promoted through tours, exhibits, and workshops to minimise damage to marine life. A cafe and rest stop provide a space for reflection, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy.

I'm a designer driven by storytelling and emotion, drawing from personal experiences to create meaningful connections. With a background rooted in narrative, every design should tell a story and evoke specific emotions in users. Empathy guides my process, enabling me to understand users' needs deeply. Collaboration is key, as diverse perspectives enrich the design process. My goal is to craft immersive experiences that resonate, leaving a lasting impact on users' lives through authentic, empathetic design.
