W.I.P. Habitation

Category
Sustainable Cities and Communities

Homelessness is a challenge that extends beyond a mere societal scale; it is a deeply personal issue affecting individuals on a profound level. Existing shelters do not fulfil the emotional role necessary in transitioning individuals gracefully back to society (one out of three homeless persons return to the streets). Work In Progress (W.I.P.) Habitation aims to create an environment where homeless individuals can find redignification through funded co-living with persons of similar experiences and rehabilitation. The details and finishes, reminiscent of being under construction, utilise recycled and sustainably responsible materials. They are tangible symbols of never settling and that the tenants' journeys do not end at W.I.P. Habitation.

Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design

Alf Renz Manaog Bongcodin

I like to learn, am naturally curious, empathise with others, and respect differing opinions. I sketch frequently, and my drawings extend beyond spatial design, as design is a holistic discipline, and the same fundamental principles resonate across diverse sectors, reinforcing the interconnectedness of creative approaches.

Richard Rogers' unrelenting approach to architecture inspires my ideas. My aspirations lie in interior design, where I will find satisfaction in listening to and responding to the unique needs of my future clients. My approach centres around prioritising the human experience, as grand gestures hold little value if users cannot truly sense the purpose behind the design.
