What Remains : A Sustainable Exhibition

Category
Climate Action

What Remains details climate action and a need to educate ourselves on this prevailing matter that affects the world daily. A one-of-a-kind sustainable exhibition in Singapore, it is set in a naturally luscious environment in the city centre. Its circulation sets to bring users through the outdoor landscape before concluding in the historic colonial building. Balinese vernacular architecture inspired its forms by harnessing natural ventilation and utilising local sustainable materials. Visitors would go through the Sustainable Journey, covering topics like Renewable Energies and Biodiversity, and concluding their journey at the Cafe and Gift Store, resting and refreshing after the journey.

I believe that creativity has limitless potential and should not stop to fit into modern trends that come by. As someone who enjoys exploring, learning new skills, and taking risks, I am deeply passionate about the avid research I may take on along the design journey. These skills will help elevate my ability to express my creative ideas and help me break out of my comfort bubble. I also believe in embracing the mistakes and failures along my design journey, allowing me to learn from and clarify a better understanding of design. "Perfect" is not what we designers should strive for; instead, we aim for timeless design. While it is fun and enjoyable to design outside the box and break modern trends, a balance should be achieved to fit a space's practicality and user character. It is not about how good a building looks in its design but how we circulate and breathe life into a stagnant space.
