Lotus Culinary: where tradition meets taste in Boon Keng! It is a workshop dedicated to preserving the dying Chinese cultural dishes by passing culinary wisdom on to the next generation. Students cook for the restaurant, infusing their learning with a dynamic touch. Rooted in Boon Keng's rich Chinese history and the famed Whampoa market, Lotus Culinary aims to honour the rich heritage of Chinese culture and cuisine.

My design seamlessly blends traditional Chinese elements with a modern twist, reminding me of Chinese culture in today's world. Inspired by conventional Siheyuan architecture, the design captures its essence, with the siheyuan enveloping the colonial building to symbolise a dynamic movement dedicated to preserving Chinese culture. This integration serves as a compelling narrative, harmonising the past and present within the architectural framework.
