Kamala Retreat

Sustainable Cities and Communities

The Kamala Retreat project aims to create a haven that contributes to safeguarding Singapore's cultural and natural heritage. The plan involves repurposing the existing structure into a secure space catering to students, Indophiles, and hikers, offering a retreat from the daily hustle. The design harmonises the timeless charm of a black and white colonial house, paying homage to Indian architecture's historical roots, particularly the Bengal region. This sanctuary aspires to envelop individuals in holistic Indian cultural practices, providing a tranquil setting for self-reconnection and rejuvenation, promoting a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design

Nurafifah Ilyana Binte Mohamad Zainuddin

My passion for interior design comes from a desire to harmonise pieces, generate novel concepts, and remain on top of interesting trends. My philosophy revolves around crafting spaces that transcend functionality, evolving into compelling narratives. Each design encapsulates a curated journey, weaving emotions, aspirations, and personal histories. Colours, materials, and spatial layouts are not random; they are intentional strokes on the canvas of human experience. I want to create places that reflect the unique tales of their occupants, with each element representing a meaningful chapter, resulting in a purposeful and interwoven tapestry. In design, I aim to bring to life the silent stories spaces harbour, shaping them into vessels of personal narratives.
