Take Pride, Take Five explores how we might empower ageing taxi drivers to view rest not as a loss of income, but as productive time that sustains their ability to work longer and live healthier. While many drivers maximise long hours to protect their livelihood and independence, the prolonged sedentary and hyper-alert nature of taxi driving contributes to chronic physical strain, heightened stress responses, cognitive fatigue, and increased accident risk — endangering both themselves and their passengers.
The CabbyWellness Ecosystem reframes micro-breaks as strategic resets that improve driving performance, reward healthy habits, and encourage social engagement through three integrated touchpoints: the modular CabbyCare Kit, the Cabby+ app, and CabbyRest Stops at petrol stations. In partnership with NTUC Health, this initiative promotes active ageing while supporting our senior drivers’ independence, longevity, and sustained working capacity.

“We are required to believe in something that doesn’t exist in order to allow it to come into being.”
